To stream to Live Aware using OBS Studio, you'll first need to obtain your unique Server URL and Stream Key from Live Aware. This method gives you greater control over your broadcast, allowing for advanced features like eye-tracking and input-tracking overlays.
💡 While these steps specifically document how to configure OBS Studio, Live Aware provides a Stream URL and Stream Key that can be used with any application or device that streams video using the RTMP protocol.
Get a Live Aware Stream URL and Stream Key
Navigate to https://streamer.nexus.liveaware.io.
Select an Event and then click Go Live.
Provide a name for your stream and click Go Live once more.
A screen will appear displaying your Server URL and Stream Key. You will use these in the next step to configure OBS Studio.
Configure OBS Studio for RTMP Streaming
Once you have your RTMP link, you can configure OBS Studio:
Open OBS Studio.
In the main OBS Studio window, click Settings in the bottom right corner.
In the Settings window, select Stream from the left-hand menu.
Under the Service dropdown, select Custom....
In the Server field, paste the Server URL field from Live Aware.
In the Stream Key field, paste the Stream Key field from Live Aware.
Click OK to save your stream settings.
Before starting your stream, ensure your video and audio sources are configured correctly in OBS Studio (e.g., adding game capture, webcam, microphone, and any desired overlays like eye tracking or input tracking).
In the main OBS Studio window, click Start Streaming in the bottom right corner. Your content will now be sent to Live Aware.
