Creating Slices with the Live Aware Desktop Recorder

Slices are an advanced version of clips. Right now they contain the video clip and transcript. In the near future, they can contain other data to understand the game state even better, including event logs, device diagnostics, and input data.

You can customize lengths with corresponding hotkeys or use clicks to ensure precise capture. Right now they contain the video clip and transcript. Slices can be created while viewing videos on Live Aware, or as you are recording or livestreaming with the Live Aware Desktop Recorder.

Creating Slice Triggers

In settings, you can access and manage your Slice triggers.

  1. Click on your avatar on the top right corner, and select Settings.

  2. Click New slice trigger.

  3. Add a title for your Slice trigger.

  4. Specify the number of seconds you would like your Slice trigger to create.

  5. Click Record hotkey and enter any combination of hotkey beginning with 1 to 2 Modifiers (Ctrl, Shift, Alt) and any alphanumeric character. (ex. Ctrl, Shift, S)

  6. Click Save.

Editing Slice Triggers

  1. While in the Slices settings page, Hover over the three dots for the Slice you would like to edit.

  2. Click Edit Slice trigger.

  3. Change the title, length, or hotkey combination.

  4. Click Save.

Deleting Slice Triggers

In settings, you can access and manage your slice triggers

  1. While in the Slices settings page, Hover over the three dots for the Slice you would like to delete.

  2. Click Delete slice Trigger.

  3. Click Delete in the confirmation window that appears.

Creating a Slice while Recording or Livestreaming

Create a slice at any time using any of the hotkey combinations you’ve created for each Slice trigger.
