Local Recording with the Live Aware Desktop Recorder

With the Live Aware Desktop Recorder you can locally record and securely livestream captured video directly to your team’s project. Streams can be viewed live, and are saved and can be watched anytime later. There is no easier way to get your team’s video captured than the Live Aware Desktop Recorder. You can download the Live Aware Desktop Recorder here. Once downloaded and installed, you will need to Log in.

Logging Into the Live Aware Desktop Recorder

  1. Launch the Live Aware Desktop Recorder.

  2. Click Sign in with Google

  3. Enter your login credentials.

Configuring and Starting your Local Recording

  1. Click the Local Recording button

  2. Set your Output Location in the bar to your left. To change it, click Browse and select your output folder in the folder selection dialog.

  3. Select the screen or window to capture and your camera settings with drop-down menus under the Video section

  4. Select your audio source and your microphone settings with drop-down menus under the Audio section.

  5. You may optionally open Advanced Settings to select your recording’s resolution and bitrate, if your cursor is captured, and if a recording buffer is used.

  6. When you are ready, click Record to begin your local recording. If you are recording your full screen, you will need to confirm by clicking Continue.

💡You can easily create Slices, which are shorter video clips, while you are recording. For more information, check out Creating Slices with the Live Aware Desktop Recorder.

Ending and Uploading your Local Recording

  1. When you are done recording, click End Recording.

  2. To view the video file of your recording, click Open Folder.

  3. If you’d like to delete this recording, click Delete Recording.

  4. To upload it to Live Aware, click Upload.

  5. Your recording will be uploaded, and you will see a notification message when it is complete.
